Renovation of a spacious apartment located within an iconic 1970s residential complex, overlooking Lake Maggiore with panoramic views of the Borromean Islands. Purchased by a couple living in Singapore as a holiday home and family retreat for their daughter Sara, the property was primarily chosen for its terrace, the true centerpiece of the project.

The goal was to create a comfortable, contemporary home while preserving the apartment’s original character. At the owners’ request, some existing floors, wooden doors, and characteristic details were retained and integrated into a complete renovation that encompassed systems, bathrooms, and finishes.

The project is guided by colors, with serene and luminous tones reflecting the atmosphere of the Lake. These harmonize with handcrafted cement tiles, Indonesian wooden furniture, custom-made pieces, and essential design elements. The kitchen, entirely custom-designed, opens onto a large window, maintaining a strong visual connection with the terrace. The bedrooms, featuring pastel palettes with contrasting accents, enhance the sense of calm and intimacy. The result is a carefully curated and welcoming space, modern yet timeless, designed to be truly lived in, rather than merely a display apartment.
